Eddie is an American Chef, restaurants owner, author, food personality, producer, and attorney. So lots of things. He is a co owner of BaoHaus, a restaurant in the East Village of Manhattan. He is currently a host in a show called Huang’s World for Vineland.

Eddie went to the University of Pittsburgh and Rollins College. He graduated 2004 with B.A. degree in English language and Film. He also won prestigious awards for his directing skills and was Sports and Humor editor for the school paper called “The Sandspur”. Later he earned “Juris Doctor degree (J.D.) from Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University. He also worked as President of the Minority Law Students Association at the Innocence Project, President of the Minority Law Students Association and as Vice President of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association.
Huang worked hard all his life. He tried almost everything he knew how to do. He was a clothing designer, an attorney of law, Chef and Restaurateur, Writer, TV host, and a motivational speaker.
After he got his degree, Huang worked as an attorney for a law firm Chadbourne & Parke in New York City. He worked as an association between 2006 and 2007 and was later hired as an associate in the Corporate Department in 2008. From 2006 to 2009 he had a clothing company called “Hoodman Clothing”. He made streetwear clothing made by a graphic designer he had met in Taiwan, Ning Juang.
In 2009 he decided to open a restaurant. He learned all sorts of cooking techniques from various chefs of different restaurants originating from all over the world. And he learned how to be a good manager and expeditor. He knew how to manage all the communications between the back and front of the restaurant. That way he kept everything under strict control. He went so far with his business and he even perfected it so well that he got into the list of influential people in the food industry, presented annually on the Internet.

Eddie wrote two books. The first one is called “Fresh Off The Boat” and it is about his family and his life. It is about how exactly did his family go from China to Taiwan and from Taiwan to the United States. And how did they create their place in America? But he wanted to see If he could be Chinese again so he went back to China and cooked for his own people.
He wanted to know if his recipes are good for as the original ones, but the most important thing he learned was that it doesn’t matter if his recipes are as good as originals because he doesn’t owe them anything. He was born in the United States and he is the part of that new culture as he is a part of his homeland. That is why he is allowed to change things and leave his own mark on the food he is making. That is at the same time the main subject of his second book called “Double Cup Love”. The both of his books were critically acclaimed and the first one even got a TV adaptation.

Fresh of The Boat Series
Fresh of The Boat is a TV adaptation of Eddie Huang’s autobiography novel with the same name. He was first against the series and he was very mad on the Disney and ABC because they changed a lot of elements from the book. But he learned to live with that over time. He found out that it is not a big deal if the producers decide to change his favorite band or if they even make some things too much stereotypical. Those stereotypes are only making peoples from other cultures closer to the Chinese culture.
Eddie Huang Restaurants
Eddie opened his first restaurant “BaoHaus” in Lower Manhattan. That was in 2009. Two years later, he relocated that restaurant to the East Village and expanded his menu. He tried to open another restaurant called Xiao Ye, but he closed it because of bad reviews. He was too busy with his other businesses to care about the quality of the second restaurant.
