Gabriel Iglesias Partner and Family

Gabriel Iglesias was born in San Diego, California as Gabriel Jesus Iglesias. He has five brothers and sisters, and he is the youngest of six children. Their mother brought them up all alone and she was furious because of that. As a retaliation because of his father’s absence during his birth, she changed S with C in his surname. However, he doesn’t want to use that spelling in his everyday life. His family grew up in Riverside, Corona, Santa Ana, Baldwin Park, and Compton. They found their permanent home in Section. That is lower class housing in Long Beach. He spent the largest part of his youth there.

Gabriel Iglesias Wife

Gabriel Iglesias wife is Claudia Valdez. She is an actress and a producer. However, there is not much to say about her since she keeps her personal life strictly personal. We tried to find her on some of Gabriel’s photos on Instagram or to even find her on any of the social networks, but all that was in vain. That is very strange considering her line of work. She really needs to work a little bit harder on her marketing. But Claudia is not that good of an actress. She nailed a couple of smaller roles and one of the biggest was when she played a nurse in 2010 film, Monsters. But it looks like she really knows her business when we talk about her second line of work – producing movies.

Gabriel Iglesias and his wife Claudia Valdez

Almost everyone referrers to her as his wife, however, she is not there yet. The two of them are not married, although they have been in a relationship since 2008. Allegedly the couple was seen together on “A Wish For” animal benefit at laugh factory in January of 2008 and it is believed that they had already been in a couple of months long relationship. The two of them have a son Frankie.

However, Frankie is not Gabriel’s son. Rumor has it that Claudia got pregnant with Frankie before she even met Gabriel. Having in mind that Gabriel has a good soul and he showed that on his TV show “I’m not Fat… I am Fluffy and Hot & Fluffy”. No matter what the real truth is, he has been a true father figure to Frankie all these years.

You can find the real reason for his sincere compassion in his own personal life and childhood. Remember that his mother raised his brothers and sisters all by herself, without their father. He obviously didn’t want that same future for Frankie, so he did his best to be there for him.

Gabriel Iglesias Then and Now

Gabriel is a true comedian and he often makes jokes about himself and one of the largest problems he has ever had – obesity. At his heaviest, he had 445 pound which is roughly somewhere around 200kg. His doctors diagnosed him with Type II Diabetes with his blood sugar going all the way to 300 every single day. Doctors even went very cruel in their predictions and gave him 2 more years of life. That was a moment in which he decided to take care of himself. Since clinics couldn’t help him (they were over scheduled), he turned to healthy diets, yoga, weight lifting, and high protein – low carbs diets. That helped him to take off over 45 kg.

Gabriel Iglesias Education and Career

Gabriel went to Woodrow Wilson Classical High School in Long Beach, California. The first job he had was a cell phone company in LA and in 1997 he decided to completely devote himself to comedy. However, that resulted in him losing all the money, being kicked out of his home and losing his car.

He started giving his voice to cartoon characters, first in Family Guy (to the entire Mexican family) and after that to a recurring set of identical twin characters on The Emperor’s New School. That is a Disney animated series.

The interesting thing happened in 2006 when he was a contestant on a tv reality series Last Comic Standing. He was one of the finalists when he got disqualified. The reason was a smuggled phone which he used to communicate with his family and friends. We have already mentioned that he is a good guy.

In 2011, Comedy Central had Gabriel Iglesias Presents Stand Up Revolution, which was a standup showcase series with him on the helm.

In 2012 he had one of his most noticeable roles. He played a club DJ and a drug dealer in 2012 movie Magic Mike. A year after, he voiced Ned and Zed in 2013 Disney Toon Studios film Planes. In 2014 Gabriel voiced characters in the animated film The Nut Job and El Americano: The Movie in 2016.
