Kate Capshaw  is an American actress who you must remember from her role in Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom. She played Willie Scott, a love interest to the Indiana Jones. Kate full name is Kathleen “Kate” Capshaw-Spielberg, thus, the connection is obvious. That is, Kate is a wife of one of the most famous Hollywood’s names, Steven Spielberg.

Her second marriage was made possible because of the “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom”, believe it or not. During the production of the movie, she met director Steven Spielberg whom she married in 1991, almost seven full years after they met. The reason for that was that Spielberg had to divorce from actress Amy Irving with whom she was married at that time. After they got married, Kate Capshaw converted to Judaism because of Spielberg.  They have seven beautiful children and they still have a perfect marriage.

After moving to St. Louis, Missouri, Kate Capshaw graduated from Hazelwood Senior High in 1972. She earned a degree in education from the University of Missouri. Furthermore, she taught Special Education at Southern Boone County High School in Ashland, Missouri, and Rock Bridge High School in Columbia, Missouri.

Her first role was in the soap opera “The Edge of Night” and that practically started her successful career. After that, she played in “A Little Sex” starred in “Dreamscape (1984)” and in the same year she co-starred with Harrison Ford in “Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom”. In 1986 she appeared in “SpaceCamp” and she actually starred as Susanna McKaskel in The Quick and The Dead (1987). She also continued to star in lots of famous movies throughout 80’s and 90’s. Some of them are “Black Rain”, “Just Cause”, etc.

In 2002, she decided not to accept any more roles and to completely devote herself to raising her children. Everything around the finances has been handled by her husband since then.

Kate Capshaw didn’t want to be in any of the big movies. In fact, she only wanted to be a “very serious actress”. She wanted to focus on smaller, independent films and she only accepted to be in Indiana Jones because she thought that it would be a good opportunity to show her singing and dancing skills. That is why she studied and rehearsed a solo tap dance with her trainers and choreographers for a long long time. In the same time, she practiced her singing skills to perfection and managed to sing the Cole Porter classic “Anything Goes” completely in Mandarin.
