Mike Epps is an American stand-up comedian, actor, writer, rapper and film producer. His versatile nature has grown throughout the years but he is mainly recognized as a comedian. He started off fairly young as he showed his comedic nature long before really embarking and making it a career. He was encouraged from early age to become a comedian and he moved to Atlanta to work in the Comedy Act Theatre. He would later move to Brooklyn and become the part of Def Comedy Jam where he appeared regularly.

Actually, the start of Mike Epps’ career was in 1995 when he did tours with the Def Comedy Jam and even appeared in two of HBO’s Def Comedy Jam broadcasts. But his first appearance in a movie was in “Strays” (1997). But his biggest breakthrough came with the Friday movie as Ice Cube asked for him specifically when he saw him doing a stand up in a club.

Mike then went on to portray the role of Day-Day Jones in the sequel “Next Friday” (2000) and also in “Friday After Next” (2002). His comedic chops helped him to make a breakthrough in other comedy moves and his specific brand of humor helped him accumulate in them. He starred in “All About the Benjamins” (2002), “How High” (2001), “Malibu’s Most Wanted” (2003), “The Honeymooners” (2005), “Next Day Air” (2009), “Fifty Shades of Black” (2016) and “Meet the Blacks” (2016). He also reprised his role of Black Doug twice in “Hangover” (2009) and “Hangover Part III” (2013) and also played L.J. Wade in “Resident Evil: Apocalypse” (2004) and “Resident Evil: Extinction” (2007), showing that he has a knack for action movies as well.

He is no stranger for doing voiceover roles as he landed his voice to characters in “Dr. Doolittle 2” (2001), “Open Season 2” (2008) and by also voicing Moe “Mo Gunz” Jackson on “The Boondocks.” He also released his standup special titled “Don’t Take it Personal” in 2015.

With his movie career already booming, Mike Epps has also dabbled in music. He firstly appeared in many videos of other rappers and then started to provide vocals himself. He has many collaborations with other singers and also has two collaborative studio albums released. His only solo album is titled “Funny Bidness: Da Album” released back in 2009.
