Sam Claflin was born as a third of four sons of Mark and Susan Claflin. His father Mark Claflin is a finance officer, while his mother Susan A. (Clarke) is a classroom assistant. Sam’s older brothers Dan and Benjamin are not involved in acting, but his younger brother Joseph is an actor too.

As a young boy, Sam Claflin was crazy about football (soccer). He would often go to watch and support his favorite team, Norwich City. Moreover, Sam was very talented soccer player.
